Congratulations!

The faculty and staff of C. L. Salter would like to congratulate two of its outstanding educators for the school year of 2011-2012.

J.S.U. Hall of Fame teacher is Ms. Eileen Joiner. Ms. Joiner brings many years of experience and dedication to the Talladega City School Sytem. Her caring personality makes her a wonderful candidate for this award.

Teacher of the Year for Salter Elementary is Ms. Ashley Campbell. Ms. Campbell is a very organized and efficient teacher. Her first grade students always seem to be well prepared for the second grade due to her hard work and energy.

Thank you ladies for representing our faculty well!

Principal for the Day

DeJavion Spratling was "Principal for the Day" for selling the most items during our first school fund-raiser. He had to perform several principal-like tasks today! Congratulations, DeJavion!!

The placing is as follows: 1st-Scarlett Diego (K), 2nd-Jennifer Villanueva (2nd), 3rd-Labren Swain (4th), 4th-Tajae Swain (3rd), 5th-Tranazia Barclay (5th), 6th-Montana Harrell (1st), and 7th-Jaymon Gaddis (6th). Today Salter's Kings & Queens were crowned!! K-3rd King is Desmond Collins & Queen is Takiyah Whitfield. 4th-6th King is Tyron Tucker & Queen is KaBrillyah Swain. The King & Queen Court consists of the following: Jazmine Bridges, Yasmine Waites, Armond Caldwell, Yamariah Suttle, Alissa McNeal, Jada Curry, Amari Webb, Kateria Lawson, Aaron Greene, Jerrius Curry, Jessica Ramirez, Zahir Scales, Daelen Powell, Taylor Huber, Kyaira Truss, Phadrian Evans, Temaja Patterson, Derrion Calloway, and Jaquonta Garrett. Congratulations Kings, Queens, & Court!! =)

A & A/B Honor Roll Field Trip

Salter students enjoyed a fun-filled day at Sunshine Skating Rink as their reward for making all As or As & Bs. The students (and teachers =)) had a blast! We had over 120 students make good enough grades to participate in this exciting field trip!! Way to go students!!

THS Barn Yard

Our students recently enjoyed an exciting trip to the THS Barn Yard. One of the main attractions was the...SNAKE!!! We would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Bice for inviting the 1st Grade students at Salter Elementary! =)
