The Principal's Principles

Compassion - Compassion is a sympathetic understanding of another person's pain with the desire to relieve it. Compassion means that you understand another person's sadness so well, that it almost becomes your own. You may not be able to fix another person's problem, but giving your time and tenderness helps lift spirits and brings hope to a person. John D. Rockerfeller, Jr. said, "Giving is the secret of a healthy life. Not necessarily money, but whatever a person has of encouragement, sympathy, and understanding." There are many ways you can show that you care about others. Visit a lonely neighbor, donate food to a food bank, or stand up for someone who is being teased. Compassion makes the world a better place! Make an effort to show compassion to someone this week.

Just a couple of days ago, I listened to a speaker end with the remark that "America is great because because America is good." Thanks for a post that reminds us about the potential for goodness that lies in each of us.

A warm welcome to Talladega's newest blog!
