Superintendent's Art Show

These students placed in the Superintendent's Art Show:  1st place-Zaneria Harrison, 2nd place-Imani Booker, 3rd place-KaTaja Brown, 4th place-Tracavion Robertson, 5th place-A'Daysha Fulford, 6th place-Phadrian Evans, & 7th place-Montrelvion Funderburg. Congratulations to these 7 students!!

Tennessee Aquarium

 Salter's 1st Graders took the trip of a lifetime to...The Tennessee Aquarium on Thursday, November 8, 2012. This trip went along with the ocean unit the 1st Grade teachers have been studying. The students were able to tour the salt water aquarium & the fresh water aquarium. The students also toured the butterfly garden. Our students were very well-behaved & we had LOTS of parent volunteers go with us. Thank you to everyone that went! We had a blast!!

Drug Free Week

 Detective Patrick Thornton made a special visit to Salter Elementary today. He talked with the students about how important being drug free is. He also showed the students in the upper grades a drug free video. We appreciate Detective Thornton coming out and stressing the importance of being drug free!

~Boss's Day~

Yesterday, we celebrated Boss's Day with our wonderful boss! The faculty & staff surprised Mrs. Griffin with banners, a decorated office, and LOTS of yummy food! We are blessed beyond measure to have Mrs. Griffin as our boss! Thanks for being the caring, understanding, and compassionate person that you are, Mrs. Griffin! <3 We LOVE you! <3



THS Pep Rally

 Today, C. L. Salter students participated in the THS Homecoming Pep Rally! THS band members, football players, cheerleaders, and danceline came to Salter to "pep" our students up for Homecoming! Our students had a blast participating in the THS Homecoming Pep Rally!

Talladega Robotics Team

The Talladega Robotics Team came to show the 6th Graders their robot. Regan and Matthew are the high schoolers demonstrating how the robot works. Marqwentice and Kyaira were allowed to operate the robot after the demonstration by the high schoolers. Thanks, Mr. Huss, for allowing your students to show our 6th Graders the robot!

FALL FESTIVAL

Salter Elementary will have a fall festival on Thursday, November 15th from 5:30-7:30. Some of the activities will include:  face painting, duck pond game, bounce house, fishing booth, photo booth, cake walk, arts & crafts, darts, & bowling. We will be serving food and a drink. The THS cheerleaders will also be at SES on this night. Come join us in our fun & games! Happy Fall, Y'all!!

Crane Book Fair

Mrs. Korreckt, the librarian, will be hosting a Crane book fair on the following dates:  Tuesday, October 3-Tuesday, October 9. The time of the book fair will be 8:30AM-3:00PM each day. The place of the book fair will be in the library. Come support Salter's library by purchasing books from the Crane book fair!

Under the Sea

The picture above is our First Grade hall. The first graders are learning about the sea and sea animals. The first graders will be going on a trip to the Tennessee Aquarium on November 8th as a fun way to "wrap-up" their unit!

Bridgewater Donations

These students are pictured with new school supplies donated by the employees from Bridgewater.  They have chosen to sponsor our school this year.  They gave us $1,000 towards the purchase of Brain Pop for use in all classrooms.  It is a fantastic new website that we are excited to use!  Thanks Bridgewater!!

Principal for the Day & Secretary for the Day

Jaden Williams and A'Mya Hughes were Principal for the Day & Secretary for the Day at Salter Elementary. Jaden sold the most cookie dough during our fund-raiser and A'Mya was not far behind him in cookie dough sales. Hopefully their day is smooth sailing as they take over these hard jobs!!

1st Grade's Ducklings

For the past three years, 1st Graders have been able to witness the hatching of chicks or ducklings. This year, we hatched ducklings. The students were able to help feed, water, and clean up after our duckling. This is a great experience for 1st Grade students to learn about life cycles.

Faculty VS 6th Grade

Every year Salter's faculty plays the 6th Grade students in kickball, & every year the faculty wins!! The rest of the students are able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Everyone absolutely had a blast! Nice try 6th Graders. GREAT JOB, FACULTY!!

Awards Day

 Yesterday, Salter students were rewarded for their hard work with Awards Day. Many students won awards for honor roll(s), art, perfect attendance, and citizenship. We are very proud of our students and all of their hard work!!

Secretary's Day

C.L. Salter's faculty, staff, and students showered Mrs. Brown with kind words and treats in honor of Secretary's Day. We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Brown at Salter. Happy Secretary's Day!! Thanks for always being AWESOME!! <3

Raised Garden Beds

Salter students in each grade level planted their vegetables in the raised garden beds yesterday. The students planted cabbage & broccoli. We would like to say a special thanks to the Outdoor Classroom Committee for organizing this. We would also like to especially thank Mr. & Mrs. Heath for keeping the gardens up so well!!
