Smokey the Bear
Yesterday, Talladega National Forest workers and Smokey the Bear came to Salter to teach the students in K-3 about fire safety! After the assembly, the students were allowed to shake Smokey's hand and give him a hug!

1. October 3-7 - Book Fair
2. October 6 - PTO Open House - 5:00 - Come and visit your child's classroom
3. October 10 - Dental Screening - Grades K-6th
4. October 10 - Board of Education meeting - Talladega High School - 5:30
5. October 11-15 - National School Lunch Week - make reservations to eat with your child.
6. October 11 - Vision Screening - Grades K, 2nd, and 4th
7. October 12 - White Cane Safety Presentation - 9:00 - 3rd and 4th grade
8. October 20 - Progress Reports
9. October 24-28 - Red Ribbon Week - Dare to be Drug Free
10.October 25 - Re-take if you missed fall pictures, class groups will be taken this day also
